Nakuru County is set to begin the second phase of the stormwater management project at Jewatho, in Njoro sub-county to deal with perennial floods in the area.
The department of Roads led by CEC Eng Michael Kamau today held a consultative meeting with residents of Jewatho to deliberate and come with up an alternative solution and route for the commencement.
According to Kamau, due to the onset of a rainy season, an urgent solution is needed to address the drainage problem in the area hence the rapid construction of a drain in Phase two which is 1.1 Kilometer.
“Since the location of the drain should dictate where the floors should be sloped, I will request a planner and surveyor to come in early next week to determine where the drainage will be constructed, to drain the water to an already existing culvert,” said Kamau.
He revealed that the office of the MCA had received funds for the Maintenance of Street Lights From Kwa-Mwaura to Jewatho.
Present was, Chief Officer, Roads and Transport Kennedy Mugo and Area MCA Kariuki Kungu.
