County builds social halls to empower youth
County Government Nakuru is establishing and rehabilitating existing social halls across the County which will be used for meetings, indoor games, cultural events, festivals, exhibitions, workshops.
Governor Lee Kinyanjui’s administration is ensuring that the social halls are youth-friendly by including spaces for ICT hubs, studios, public address and lighting systems and gyms which will help end social vices and empower the youth.
The County has therefore invited bids for the rehabilitation of more social halls and expression of interest for the purchase of parcels of land for the construction of new facilities.
The construction of a social hall in Menengai West Ward will complement the London Social Hall which is being rehabilitated due to the dense population in Kiamunyi and London areas.
The County has also invited bids for the purchase of suitable parcels of land for the construction of Barut Social Hall to cater for Barut, Kelelwet and other dense villages in Nakuru West Sub-county.
Rehabilitation of existing social halls in each Sub-county is ongoing including Kayole, Mau Narok, Malewa West Ward, Gilgil, Mai Mahiu, Viwandani, Molo, Kiptangwanyi, Rongai, Kiptagich, Menengai social halls and Homecraft centre.
