Date for Interdenominational prayers for Solai victims set
Nakuru County Governor Lee Kinyanjui has announced that interdenominational prayers for Solai dam tragedy victims will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2018.
“We are inviting Kenyans to join us on this day to stand together with the Solai community in prayers,” he said.
He said the 40 people who were reported as missing have been accounted for after reconciliation of lists of those currently living at the Solai Boys Secondary School and bodies at Nakuru County and Nakuru County Referral Hospital mortuaries.
“Our report desk however remains open until we resettle the affected families,” he said.
He said the focus now is on humanitarian assistance to the families and how their livelihood can be restored.
Deputy County Commissioner Julius Kavita thanked the County Government for waiving mortuary and postmortem fee for families.
