Embu County officers in Nakuru on health benchmarking visit
The County Assembly of Embu’s Health Committee is in Nakuru County to benchmark on quality healthcare provision at the Nakuru Level 5 Hospital and the Provincial General Hospital-Annexe.
Embu County Deputy Governor, who is also the acting Minister for Health, Mr David Kariuki is leading the delegation for the second tour of Nakuru County.
MCAs and Health Management Teams, led by respective Ministers of Health, from Kajiado, Nyeri, Kiambu, Elgeiyo Marakwet Embu counties recently toured Nakuru on similar missions.
Automation of revenue collected at the two hospitals has enabled the County to raise revenue from Shs300 million to over Shs1.17 Billion over the last two financial years.
The two facilities have recorded improved healthcare services and are undertaking major infrastructural development projects through the revenue collected from the facilities.
Nakuru Minister for Health, Dr Gichuki Kariuki said the County Government of Nakuru will continue to upgrade facilities, staff and stock with drugs and equipment hospitals across the County.
Acting County Director for Medical, Dr Daniel Wainaina said the County is in the process of automating services in the integrated Electronic Medical Health Records-EHR system,
EHR is a collection of information about an individual’s health, making it easy for health care providers to get the information they need to make better-informed decisions to address illnesses.
