The County under the leadership of H.E Governor Susan Kihika has embraced Community Scorecards for Accountability, an approach that accommodates community needs for appropriate resource allocation.A community scorecard is a powerful tool that mobilizes community resources placing communities at the center of quality health service delivery. It builds trust between service providers and clients. The community scorecard promotes community ownership and participation to ensure the provision of Quality Healthcare services. The program design aims to strengthen citizen voices and empower the community to be part of monitoring through a structured feedback mechanism.County Director for Public Health Services, Ms. Elizabeth Kiptoo said that the County will immediately conduct at least one scorecard per sub-county following the two-day training conducted for all Sub-county Health Management Teams.”This provides an opportunity for community members and providers to track inputs or expenditures like availability of drugs and evaluate the quality of Health services they receive at the primary health facilities and the Community level,” she noted.County Community Health Focal Person, Ms. Ritah Ochola said that this scorecard enables healthcare providers to understand and appreciate health outcomes in their communities. “This is also a benchmark performance criteria that can be used in resource allocation and budget decision,” she noted.
