Kipepeo tops at the Governor Susan Kihika chess tournament

Kipepeo International School has emerged as the champion of Governor Susan Kihika’s junior chess tournament, held at Afraha Secondary School on Madaraka Day.
The competition, organized by the Nakuru Chess Academy in partnership with the County Government drew schools from various parts of the country to participate in the Madaraka Day tournament.
Sports Executive Member Josephine Achieng, accompanied by Chief Officers Stella Mwaura (Sports), Alex Maina (Resource Mobilization), Acting Sports Director David Kimani, and Caroline Nulu, a sports officer, hinted at the possibility of more tournaments.
The head coach for NCA Mr. Dickson Gitari applauded the effort the Department of Sports and the administration of H.E Susan Kihika are putting in place to nurture talents in Nakuru.
Clarice Bwanga teacher at Betty Mavity Roberts Education Center From Lanet lauded the importance of having these tournaments since they empower the young ones with mental skills and pleasure socialising above all the game itself is entertaining.
