Nakuru County is holding a two-day Nakuru County Multi-Agency Forum to enable youth-serving stakeholders to create a road map for coordination, synergy, lesson sharing and leveraging resources among the stakeholders.
The forum will further help create a forum to exchange information and expertise on good practices in youth-related programming in Nakuru County.
The forum was officially opened by Nakuru Deputy Governor Hon. David Kones. The Deputy Governor said the administration led by H.E Governor Susan Kihika is committed to supporting and mainstreaming the needs of the youth, and aligning them with resources and opportunities.
He added that to achieve the theme “Fostering partnerships among duty bearers”, the forum will be very significant to help address issues of lack of coordination, regulation, documentation, and information sharing as well as avoiding duplication and wastage of resources.
During the discussions, it was highlighted that there’s a need to have policies that highlight sustainable empowerment strategies, youth inclusion and equality.
The forum has brought together stakeholders drawn from over 70 youth-serving organizations operating in Nakuru county.
