Road rehabilitation plans kick off in Barut Ward

The Department of Roads, Transport and Public works have begun the assessment of roads in Barut Ward in Nakuru Town West Sub-county to enhance connectivity and accessibility for residents.

The move is in line with Governor Susan Kihika’s development agenda to provide durable roads across the county by developing innovative methods of road construction and maintenance.

Roads, Transport and Public work Executive Eng. Michael Kamau together with the Chief officer for Roads and Transport Kennedy Mugo assessed four major access roads that need to be improved in Barut ward, Nakuru West Sub County.

The roads include the 1.5 Kilometer Burgei – Kelewet Primary road 2 Kilometers Kelelwet – Kigonor road, 1 Kilometer Barut centre – Maternity dispensary road, and Kapglado – Ngera Pwani road.

The rehabilitation includes grading gravelling and dozing, which will enhance accessibility across the ward and aid the smooth movement for the residents, school-going children, and those accessing Barut Dispensary.

Eng Kamau noted that these roads will be rehabilitated during the Second Phase of the Imarisha Barabara Program.
