Six new Co’s sworn in
Governor Lee Kinyanjui on Wednesday witnessed the swearing in of the County Attorney and the signing of contracts by six new chief officers.
The Governor signed and presented appointment letters to the officers during the event held at Milimani, Nakuru town.
The officers are:
County Attorney- Caleb Nyamwange
Dr. Solomon Kibet Sirma- Medical Services
Daniel Muthinga- Roads, Transport and Public Works
Samuel Kingori- Public Health
Anne Njenga- Public Service Management
Joel Kibet- Agriculture
Paul Githinji- Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance
The Governor,who was accompanied by his Deputy Dr Eric Korir, congratulated the new officers and asked them to serve Nakuru residents diligently and observe integrity.
He said all Chief Officers will sign performance contracts and they are expected to deliver on their mandate.
“By signing the performance contracts every employee will by June be held accountable and is required to have met the set target,” he said
The Governor said his administration will transform the county work force to ensure it’s efficient and meets the needs of the residents.
“Once we streamline their operations we believe much more can be done by our employees with less wastage,” he added.
He said the appointment of a County Attorney was important as the County has been spending huge sums of money by paying external lawyers.
The Deputy Governor said the new officers will assist in managing various sectors in the county.
“We now have a full team and are more than prepared to offer services to residents,” he said.
The new officers pledged to execute their mandate with utmost dedication and assist the Governor deliver on his mandate.
“We will work with Sub County, Ward administrators and other County officers to ensure that service delivery in Nakuru will be next to none,” said Public Service C.O. Anne Njenga.
Agriculture Chief Officer Joel Kibet said the department will ensure there is sufficient food in the county while the surplus can be supplied to food insecure neighbouring counties.
