Following a productive meeting between the Department of Youth, Sports, Talents and Resource Mobilization and the Wakuu Creatives Self Group, plans are in motion for a series of initiatives to empower local artists in Nakuru.
The joint venture has paved the way for the implementation of a proposal focused on fostering creativity and providing growth opportunities.
During the meeting, Chief Officer Pastor Alex Maina encouraged the creatives to host small-scale events to attract more artists, expanding the organization’s outreach.
He stressed the importance of establishing a proper framework for photographers to prevent legal issues while operating in the Central Business District (CBD). Additionally, he pledged to advocate for their inclusion in County events such as the World Rally Championships.
Wesley Airo, the Chairperson, commended the County Government, led by H.E Governor Susan Kihika, for its immense support towards the creative community.
The Creative Team proposed a plan to see them have frequent events which would help them showcase and nurture talents. Such events would help them bring the youth together and nullify the aspect of idleness which results in illegal practices.
