Afraha Stadium upgrade on course

The construction of Phase 1 of the proposed upgrade of Afraha Stadium to international standards is still in progress.
Currently, 28% of the planned construction is already complete, and the rest is projected to be completed by July.
The plastering of Pavillion A is 60% complete, and the Ground floor wall is 95% complete. The boundary wall is 22% complete, and the running track excavation and levelling are 90% complete.
Ground beams of Pavilion B are 80% complete. The drainage, irrigation system, water tank, borehole, electric wiring, gatehouse, roofing, and finishes are set to commence in the coming weeks.
The Sh651 million facilities is one of the flagship projects under the leadership of H.E Hon Lee Kinyanjui aimed at nurturing sports talents in the county.
It was highlighted the progress has picked up the pace, and it is hoped that it will be completed within the set timelines.
The stadium will boost sports talents for the youth and sports tourism in the county.
