Baringo benchmarks on Nakuru Municipality management strategies
Officers from Kabarnet Municipality, Baringo County today toured Nakuru Municipality to benchmark on effective service delivery mechanisms.
The team, led by Minister for Lands, Housing and Urban Planning Mr Koima Kibiwot, looked into water, infrastructure, trade and environment sectors.
Nakuru County has made major strides in solid and liquid waste management, fire and disaster management, revenue collection and licensing, Human resource management among others.
The Nakuru Municipality is an inch closer to becoming the fourth Kenyan City, after Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu, and the first City in the larger Rift Valley region.
Nakuru Municipality Manager, Mr Gitau Thabanja said the board was honoured to host the Baringo County team benchmarking tour adding that Nakuru was open for more peer learning sessions.
He added that the Sh3 billion upgrade of the Lanet Airstrip will open up the region to increased tourism and horticultural exports as well as medical emergency services.
