Counties benchmark on Nakuru’s healthcare system
A team of top officials from Embu County led by Deputy Governor David Kariuki is in Nakuru to benchmark on the County’s healthcare sector.
Under Governor Lee Kinyanjui, Nakuru County has been ranked highly due to an improved healthcare system that is highly beneficial to the residents.
Elgeyo Marakwet, Kiambu and Kajiado counties have in the recent past also sent their MCAs and County Ministers to Nakuru County on similar benchmarking trips.
Areas of interest were the ongoing infrastructural development, radiology center, medical waste disposal mechanisms, automated revenue collection and health management systems.
DG Kariuki commended Nakuru’s prudent management of resources, especially the facility improvement fund that is financing the health projects.
The County Government of Nakuru has allocated over Sh6 billion in the 2020/21 financial year towards healthcare financing.
Last year, the County employed over 500 healthcare workers to meet the recommended patient-healthcare worker ratio.
Also under the leadership of Governor Lee Kinyanjui, the County now has a fleet of 30 ambulances offering free services to all Nakuru residents.
