Nakuru Hotels and Tourism Association chairman David Mwangi said they are ready to work closely with the County Government to come up with programs that will help package and market Nakuru as a tourism destination.
“The Association plans to conduct a photo competition where the winner will be given a night tour in one of the magnificent hotels in Nakuru. This will encourage them to like the tourism field,” said the chair.
During the meeting, they also discussed how to best capitalize on the upcoming events such as the Safari Rally which is slated for March this year. There will also be a rugby event happening in April and August this year.
The stakeholders also called on the need to leverage international events to market Nakuru tourism products. The events are a one-week International Tour Berlin to be held in Shanghai China starting late next month through to April.
