County out to sensitize communities on COVID-19 prevention and control
The County Government of Nakuru has launched a community sensitization drive on COVID-19 prevention and control.
The program is in collaboration with NAWASSCO and supported by the Swedish Embassy and UNICEF-Kenya.
The 3-day caravan program targets communities and patients attending various health facilities in the County.
Facilitators are training communities on proper handwashing techniques and COVID19 prevention and detection.
The County has also promoted proper handwashing through the installation of both permanent and mobile handwashing stations.
The caravan has so far covered Heshima market, Nyamarutu, Wamagata, Lanet Free Area and Mirugi Kariuki.
The 3-day activity will continue next week on Monday and Tuesday to cover Nakuru West and Nakuru North Sub Counties.
The program is coordinated by County Water and Sanitation- WASH program Coordinator, Ms Caroline Vata.
The NAWASSCO ICT Manager, Mr Antony Kamar said the company would ensure water is available in all areas.
