Government To Support Local Textile Manufacturers
Local textile manufacturers will be given priority to supply uniforms to Government agencies as a way of promoting their business and creating employment.
Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i said the Government is determined to support the local textile industry in order to boost the economy and safeguard jobs.
The CS made the remarks today when he toured Bedi Fabric and Garments factory in Nakuru in the company of Governor Lee Kinyanjui.
He said he was impressed with the quality of police uniforms being made at the facility which has employed hundreds of youths.
Governor Kinyanjui said the County was proud of companies that engage in value addition, including Bedi Fabric & Garments, that has put Nakuru in the international map through quality exports.
The Governor said in order to protect and fully exploit the textile sector potential local industries should be offered a conducive business environment.
He said his administration is keen to increase the share of business flowing to the local textile sector.
