Governor Kihika Donates foodstuffs For Idd-Ul-Fitr Celebrations

Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika ensured joy-filled Idd-Ul-Fitr celebrations for hundreds of Muslim women in Nakuru Town East and West by donating food hampers.

The hampers contained a variety of foodstuffs including sugar, cooking oil, rice, wheat flour, and dates with goats being donated to various mosques within the county.

The governor while wishing the Muslim community Allah’s blessings said she was keen on looking into the welfare of the community and will continue to work together to ensure that the community is uplifted.

Speaking at Ziwani Grounds in Biashara Ward, Kihika promised to fulfil her pledges to the community including the absorption of more community members into her government and the allocation of more bursary funds among others.

She, at the same time, called on the Muslim faithful to maintain peaceful coexistence among themselves and other community members.

Biashara ward MCA Fadhili Msuri said the governor had appreciated the mosques and donated goats for the celebrations including foodstuffs for Muslim women adding that he was willing to work with the governor on a number of development agendas.

Also present was Chief of Staff Dr Peter Ketyenya, County Trade Executive Stephen Kuria, Gender, Sports and Social Services Executive Josephine Achieng, Agriculture Executive Leonard Bor and his Chief Officer Kibet Kurgat, and CO Resource Mobilization Alex Maina, among other county officials.
