Governor Kinyanjui launches livestock vaccination in Wei, Subukia sub-county
Nakuru County Governor Lee Kinyanjui today launched a free vaccination campaign for livestock against foot and mouth, lumpy skin and rabies in Wei, Waseges Ward in Subukia sub-county.
He said the campaign is aimed at eradicating livestock diseases in the area as animals are a source of livelihood for residents.
“As a County, we will continue to support livestock farmers and will go a step further to help them improve breed,” he said.
He thanked residents for bringing their livestock for vaccination and urged them to ensure all their neighbours have taken their animals to be vaccinated.
He said the National Government has pledged to build water pans in Subukia as a pilot project.
“We will work hard to ensure one is constructed at Wei to ensure residents have water supply even in dry season. Roads in Waseges and Subukia will also be rehabilitated to facilitate movement within the sub-county,” Governor Kinyanjui said.
He was accompanied by Nakuru County Deputy Governor Dr. Eric Korir, CEC for Agriculture Dr Immaculate Njuthe and CEC for Public Service Mr. Mwania Mwangangi.
