Governor Susan Kihika installed as ASK patron for Nakuru
H.E. Governor Susan Kihika was this Tuesday installed as the patron of the Agricultural Society Kenya, Nakuru branch.
Governor Kihika was also requested to be the Chief Guest during the official opening of the ASK show in Nakuru on July 14, 2023.
Accepting the new role, Governor Kihika promised to work with ASK to ensure that the show which will display the potential of Nakuru’s businesses, agriculture and innovation is a success.
“I am happy to have been crowned as the patron of the Agricultural Society of Kenya in this County. I do appreciate your efforts,” she said.
Governor Kihika spoke during a courtesy call by ASK officials led by Central Rift chairman, Dr Perminus Migwi at her Nakuru County Headquarters office. She was accompanied by County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Agriculture, Mr Leonard Bor and Chief of Staff, Dr Peter Ketyenya.
The Governor challenged the ASK leadership to prepare for the show and work with the county officials to ensure that they marketed Nakuru as the home of agriculture, industry and tourism.
“I want you to make it one of the best shows in the country. We will partner with you and you can count on us as your partners,” she said.
Dr Migwi said more than 1,000 exhibitors drawn from agriculture, manufacturing, housing, small and medium enterprises, banking, public and private institutions, hospitality and education among others will be invited to the show which opens its doors on July 12 to July 16, 2023.
He requested Governor Kihika to help in the publicity and marketing of the show and to sponsor some groups of farmers to learn about the technology and innovations on display.
“We request the county to participate in the agriculture demonstration plots and rally the other county government departments to exhibit at the show,” he said.
Governor Kihika said the County will be represented at the show and promised to work with other government departments to participate in the show.
