Host Nakuru readies for 7th Edition KYISA games
Nakuru County is set to host the 7th Edition of the Kenya Youth Inter-County Sports Association Games from 17-24 April 2021.
Over 2,000 youths aged 18-25 years drawn from all the 47 counties are expected to compete in various sporting disciplines.
The one-week event will provide a platform where national teams scouts for talents to participate in the national teams.
The event will also turnaround the local hospitality and tourism sectors due to a large number of visitors present.
The County Directorate of Sports today held a planning meeting with the National KYISA Executive Committee.
Chief Officer for Sports, Dr William Migwe said Nakuru County is equal to the task and will ensure the event runs smoothly.
“The event comes at a time the County, under Governor Lee Kinyanjui, is investing heavily in sports,” stated Dr Migwe.
He said the teams to represent Nakuru County will be selected competitively in the Ward level across the region.
The 6th in Busia, 5th in Nandi, 4th in Makueni, 3rd in Siaya, 2nd in Kwale and 1st in Laikipia.
