Muache farmers receive dairy goats under County breeds improvement program
The County Government has distributed 125 Alpine dairy goats to 41 farmer groups in Mauche Ward, Njoro Sub County.
The County is boosting dairy goat production as an alternative livestock enterprise suitable for many small-scale farmers.
Leading the team was Dr Christopher Auma, County Senior Vet Officer and area MCA, Philip Rotich.
Goat milk is often sought for its high essential nutrients and unique taste.
According to the Directorate of Livestock, these breeds are hardy and can adapt to all agro-climatic conditions while producing to their maximum.
Recently, the County distributed 157 Alpine and Toggenburg breeds to Kabazi and Subukia Wards.
