Sh12 million Olenguruone market ready for use
Traders at Olenguruone market at Amalo Ward in Kuresoi South Sub County will now operate in a conducive environment following the construction of new market sheds.
The Ksh 12 million projects undertaken by the County Government of Nakuru through the Department of Trade, Tourism and Cooperative are now 100 per cent complete.
Trade, Tourism and Cooperative Chief Officer Mr Kennedy Momanyi said the project is in line with the pledge made by H.E Governor Lee Kinyanjui when he last visited the area.
“The County Government of Nakuru under the leadership of Governor Lee Kinyanjui is today fulfilling the pledge it made to the traders and the people of Kuresoi South at large. We will not stop until every single promise is delivered,” said the CO.
Mr Momanyi called on the traders to make good use of the market facility to uplift their living standard both economically and socially.
The trade chief thanked the traders and the locals for supporting the contractors during the construction project.
According to the project officer Mr Kennedy Kamau, the project entails the construction of new market shade, construction of a new market office, construction of toilets, septic tanks and drainage system, electrification of the market and the erection of water tanks.
The project is in line with the manifesto of the Governor to construct modern markets stalls at designated areas.
