Nakuru County Continues The Support Of Grassroot Sporting Activities

Matrix FC football club emerged the champion at the London Ward tournament themed “Put God First in your Endeavors” following a thrilling 4-2 victory over Prison FC in the finals at Prisons Main Grounds, Nakuru Town West Sub-county.
The tournament brought together ten local teams from the ward and saw fierce competition from the preliminary rounds to the final. All participating teams were duly recognized and awarded prizes for their efforts.
Pastor Alex Maina, the County Chief Officer for Youth Sports Talent and Resource Mobilization, commended the tournament organizers and applauded all participating teams for their sportsmanship and dedication. He underscored the significance of embracing Jesus Christ as the saviour in their lives.
Additionally, he expressed gratitude towards Governor Susan Kihika for her unwavering support in nurturing talents at the grassroots level. Maina announced plans to enhance the London Ward Social Hall to accommodate a variety of indoor games such as basketball, badminton, and table tennis, to further engage the youth positively in the community. He also urged the youth to seize every opportunity that crosses their path, emphasizing the importance of perseverance and dedication in pursuing their dreams.
The players expressed satisfaction in participating in the tournament during which they socialized and showcased their untapped talent. They lauded the Chief Officer for considering them.
The office of the MCA promised to continue working with the Chief Officer for Youth, Sports and Talent to ensure that the youth are incorporated into future government programs.
