County to waive license fees for PWDs-Says Governor Lee
The County Government of Nakuru will waive license fees for Persons With Disability (PWDs) in order to motivate and empower them to venture into business.
During his tour of Molo Sub County, Governor H.E Lee Kinyanjui distributed cheques worth Ksh 720,000 to PWDs groups in Molo, Kuresoi North, and Kuresoi South-Counties.
Each Sub-County received cheques worth Ksh.240,000.
Nakuru was the first County Government to implement the Disability Fund, which will go along way in uplifting the standards of living of PWDs.
The fund has enabled the County Government under the leadership of Governor Lee Kinyanjui to provide PWDs with among others assistive devices including wheelchairs and a white cane to assist the visually impaired as well as sewing machines for economic empowerment.
The County Government will also ensure all buildings plans before they are approved are friendly to the needs of PWDs.
